Your notes are personal. Their use should never be a mystery.
This policy explains what Waypoint collects, what your trainer can see, where information is stored, and how to exercise your privacy rights.

Information we collect
Waypoint stores the account and dog profile information you provide, daily check-ins, mood and wellbeing selections, program tracking, trainer messages, uploaded images, and basic technical records needed to keep the service reliable and secure.
Who can see your information
When you join a trainer workspace, that workspace’s authorized trainer or staff can see the profile, check-ins, program tracking, and coaching threads connected to that workspace. Other dog owners cannot see your information.
Waypoint administrators may access limited information when needed for support, safety, security, or legal compliance. Access should be limited to what is necessary for that task.
How we use it
We use your information to provide the shared coaching record, personalize assigned training, deliver replies, operate and secure the service, respond to support requests, and improve the beta experience.
Optional AI features are off unless you consent separately. Required account consent does not turn AI processing on.
Storage and service providers
Primary account, coaching, and uploaded-image data is stored using Google Firebase services configured for the Montréal, Canada region. Waypoint also relies on service providers to host and operate the application; those providers may process limited technical metadata under their own contractual and security controls.
Retention and deletion
We retain information while your account is active and as reasonably necessary to provide the service, resolve disputes, meet legal obligations, and protect the service. Dog-owner accounts can use the account deletion control in Settings. Trainer and administrator workspaces require a support-assisted deletion so shared workspace records are handled safely.
Your choices and rights
You may request access to the personal information Waypoint holds about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, withdraw optional consent, request deletion, or request a portable copy where applicable.
A self-service export is planned. Until it is available, email the privacy contact below to request an export. We may need to verify your identity before completing a privacy request.
Privacy incidents
Waypoint will assess suspected privacy incidents, keep required records, and notify regulators and affected people when applicable law requires it, including when an incident creates a real risk of significant or serious harm.
